Halle Berry confirmed her engagement to Van Hunt after dating for about six years.
The “Catwoman” actress revealed the news during Thursday’s episode of “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
Revealing reports that she rejected her boyfriend’s first marriage proposal, she said, “People seem to be misunderstanding that he asked me to marry him and I turned him down, but that’s not true!”
“I didn’t say no, I just didn’t have any plans for a date, but of course I said yes, I would marry him!”
The 59-year-old actress then showed off her gigantic engagement ring.
Back in June 2025, Hunt revealed that he had proposed to Berry, but her response was “on hold.”
“So I put forward a proposal, but as you can see, it’s still pending,” the musician, 55, told the outlet.
“It’s just floating. Hey, maybe you can cheer her up.”
Berry went on to explain that she was hesitant to get married because she had already been married three times.
The Oscar winner was married to former MLB player David Justice from 1993 to 1997, then to Eric Benet from 2001 to 2005, and then to French actor Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016.
Berry also told the outlet why they are putting off getting married again: “We don’t feel like we need to get married to somehow confirm our love. That’s not our intention.”
But the “Monster’s Ball” star said he hasn’t completely shut down the idea.
“Of all the people I’ve ever married, I think this is the one I’m marrying because I should have,” she said.
“I think we should get married, and I think we should get married, but it’s not because we feel like we have to. I think we just want to get married because we want that expression.”
Berry and Hunt have been dating for five years, with the former confirming their romance in a social media post in September 2020.
