Lulu McCready took to TikTok on September 5 to share a healthy interaction with a stranger over their mutual love of Lorde products, and later Hailey Bieber joined the conversation.
In the video, the 22-year-old recounts the moment she left Sephora and saw a woman eagerly trying out a new shade of Lorde’s Peptide Lip Tint. “She stopped me,” McCready explained. He also happened to have the lip products and a matching cell phone case on hand.
McCready never imagined her video would receive such acclaim (it currently has over 1 million views), much less that it would appear on the feeds of some of the most famous beauty moguls she admires. But she tells people that her love for Lorde is real. It doesn’t matter if it goes viral or not.
“I love seeing how much people really support (Bieber). You can tell she’s passionate about what she does, and that makes a difference. I also admire the way she listens to the community.” For example, when it was pointed out that the pigment in some formulas wasn’t strong enough to deepen skin tone, she went back and re-formulated them to make them better. That level of accountability shows that she genuinely cares,” McCrady said.
She praised the former model for handling her career and outside noise with such “grace” and creating a “playful, sophisticated and thoughtful” brand that “feels like a legitimate extension of herself.”
McGrady also credits Lorde with being an inspiration when it comes to “self-expression.”

“The lip tints and treatments are all staples for me and I carry them with me everywhere. I’m obsessed with the blush (which she bought at the Lord’s pop-up store in New York) and my mom loves it too, so it’s basically become a family favorite.”
Bieber launched Road in 2022. The brand, which currently offers a wide range of cosmetics and skin care products in addition to trending phone case accessories, launched at Sephora earlier this month after being acquired by Elf Beauty for $1 billion in May.
