Gypsy’s Rose Blanchard showed off a surprising hair transformation hidden under a wig.
In a since-deleted Instagram Story post, Blanchard sported a close-cropped brunette pixie cut and a beige headband. “Why do you wear a wig?” she wrote above the photo.
“This is my real natural hair,” she added. “It was completely burnt out from nearly two years of bleaching, so I had to cut it quite short.”
“I’m not happy with short hair, so I usually wear a high-quality wig until my real hair grows healthy,” the convicted felon continued. “I’m giving myself a fresh start so I can grow my hair long again.”
The 34-year-old mother, who served eight years in prison for aiding and abetting the murder of notorious mother Dee Dee Blanchard, showed off her dramatic weight loss on social media in April after giving birth to daughter Aurora in December 2024.
Gypsy Rose shared a side-by-side photo on Instagram showing her 25-pound weight loss transformation, although it has since been deleted.
In the January 2024 photo, she wore a black dress on the red carpet, while in more recent photos, she wore a white halter vest, fitted light denim jeans and high-heeled boots.
Gypsy Rose wrote in the comments section: “I’ve seen so many comments from people asking how I lost weight that my weight loss journey started after I got out of prison and once I started eating healthy food instead of prison food, the weight started coming off.”
Munchausen, a proxy survivor, explained that she “started eating twice a day” and “reduced” the amount of food she ate in order to lose weight.
The Life After Lockup star was released from prison in December 2023 after playing the role of murdering her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn’s abusive mother in 2015.
Since then, Gypsy Rose has continued to transform herself with a series of major changes.
In addition to welcoming her first child with boyfriend Ken Aker, she also went blonde, got a matching tattoo, and had a nose job and extensive dental surgery in 2024.
In December 2024, she finalized her divorce from ex Ryan Scott Anderson, whom she married in a prison ceremony in 2022.
