Gwen Stefani denied rumors that she and husband Blake Shelton have broken up with a PDA photo.
The No Doubt singer, 56, posted a photo of herself kissing the country crooner, 49, on the cheek on her Instagram Story on Friday. Stefani, wearing a red flannel shirt, let her blonde hair down and smiled serenely at the camera in the selfie.
She didn’t caption the photo and let the PDA do the talking.
Shelton’s rep also told Page Six about the breakup rumors, saying, “This is a completely fabricated story created solely for headlines and clicks.”
Speculation of the couple’s breakup intensified after Shelton did not attend the CMA Awards on November 19, despite being nominated for Best Musical Event of the Year for his feature on Post Malone’s song “Pour Me a Drink.”
Stefani hasn’t posted about Shelton on Instagram since celebrating his birthday in June.
As for Shelton, he publicly celebrated Stefani’s birthday in October.
Fans speculated about the couple’s marital status after they released their duet song “Hangin’ On,” which is about their breakup, in March.
Shelton told Access Hollywood that the song “hopefully does not reflect where Gwen and I are in our relationship.”
“That’s what we wanted to do, right?” he continued. “This song is a song that pushes us vocally and we love it. We’re at a point in our lives where we just want to do the songs we love and see what happens after that.”
The two married in July 2021, marking Stefani’s second marriage and Shelton’s third. The “Cool” singer was married to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale from 2002 to 2016. Shelton was married to Kaynette Williams from 2003 to 2006, and then to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in April, Stefani talked about the best advice she’s ever received about love and said there was an important third party in her marriage to Shelton.
“Make sure there’s a third person,” she said, then looked up and pointed a finger in the air.
She previously revealed that Shelton gave her a “second chance at life” after her divorce from Rossdale, with whom she has three sons: Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 11.
“Meeting my husband felt like a second chance at life, because when my family fell apart, it was a disaster,” she told the Guardian in November 2024.
“How do I recover from that? But God put this person there to love me,” she continued.
