Guy Fieri may be one of Food Network’s greatest talents, but the culinary icon is first and foremost a family man.
Fieri and his wife, Lori, are parents to sons Hunter, 27, and Ryder, 17. They are also raising their nephew Jules, 22, since Guy’s sister Morgan died in 2011. Between travel, TV appearances, and delicious food, the Fieris lead an exciting life.
“I’m so proud of everything these kids have been able to experience, but I’m also so proud of how grounded they’ve been,” Guy said in 2019. “I think it has a lot to do with who I am and who my wife is. We come from a very, very close-knit family.”

In 2011, Guy took young Hunter and Ryder to the premiere of Cars 2 in Hollywood, California. His sons, wearing fedoras, were all smiles in the crowd, and Ryder could watch from over their father’s shoulders.
true love

Guy and Lori’s love story extends far beyond his reign as a celebrity. The two met in 1992 when she stopped by Guy’s restaurant in Long Beach, California. In an interview with Delish in 2017, the spike-haired star said he had a good feeling. “I knew it the moment I saw her. I just knew it,” Guy recalled.
And he was right. The two married a few years later in 1995.

In a 2022 cover story interview, the Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives host told PEOPLE that her real goal in life is to build bonds at home.
“Most of my friends would say I haven’t changed. I think it’s because when I got into television, I was already doing what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a great father,” said Guy, pictured with his two sons and nephew. “Family is always my first priority.”

Like his father, Hunter has a knack for flavor and high aspirations. While attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the young chef interned at Caesars, a restaurant group that includes several Food Network stars.
Guy was candid about not interfering too much while Hunter established himself in the food world. In a 2018 interview with Delish magazine, Guy claimed he “didn’t call any friends to do favors” and praised Hunter for making his own professional connections.

Still, the TV personality hasn’t been shy about his hopes that Hunter will one day take over as host of Diner, Drive-Ins & Dives, and it looks like the up-and-coming Hunter is on board with that.
“He’s a great teacher,” Hunter told PEOPLE in 2019. “He’s a great teacher. When the time comes, he’s going to be ready to go.”
In fact, both Fieri boys have appeared on their father’s shows, “Guy’s Grocery Game” and “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.” In February 2023, Ryder made a cameo appearance as the latter’s co-host, and according to Guy’s Instagram caption, he did a great job.

Guy and Lori’s youngest child, Ryder, also shares a bond just as strong as his father’s. The two share a love of sports, and their favorite basketball team is the Golden State Warriors. They’ve been showing up at Hooper’s in Northern California since Ryder was a toddler.
In May 2022, Guy shared then-and-now Instagram posts featuring throwback courtside photos and snaps from recent games, proving his long-standing dedication to the team. In the photo, the father-son duo is seen rocking Golden State merchandise.

Over Thanksgiving weekend in 2023, Hunter became engaged to pickleball pro Tara Bernstein, and the entire Fieri family celebrated. The couple definitely had Guy’s thumbs up, considering he praised Bernstein when speaking to PEOPLE a few months ago.
“(She) has good values and is just a really great person, so I couldn’t be happier for Hunter,” the food expert said at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. “This is a big deal. It’s perfect to see him not only this happy, but to have a partner as committed as he is.”

healthy parenting

Although Fieri’s children will experience many perks thanks to their father’s success, the Food Network star champion keeps his home life simple. When Ryder turned 17, Lori and Guy gave him a new car as a reward for driving their grandparents’ minivan “for a year without tickets or accidents.”
Guy said Ryder was overjoyed to receive his car, even though his parents asked for cash.
“The gift was, ‘Hey, you have to pay half, we’ll pay the other half.’ But he was really excited,” Guy tells PEOPLE.

The boys and their parents also spent quality time with Guy’s parents, Penelope and Jim Ferry. The whole family came together when the restaurateur received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019.

Of course, this group also gathers at events that don’t get as much attention. As Lori told PEOPLE in 2019, when the cameras aren’t rolling, the family is most excited about spending leisurely time together.
“Our perfect night is a barbecue in the backyard and the kids swimming in the pool,” she said. “We’re just hunkering down at home. That’s (Guy’s) happy place.”

The restaurateur congratulated his youngest son on being a finalist for the youth service award, and Ryder received his medal at a ceremony attended by the entire family.

As 2025 concludes, Guy’s youngest son has entered his 20s. “You were an amazing son, a hard-working student, a devoted boyfriend, and a horrible, horrible little brother,” the Food Network personality wrote in a birthday tribute.
Ryder joked that he “didn’t always appreciate” his Dec. 31 birthday, but as the years went by, his “view changed.”
