“Great North” was cancelled at Fox after five seasons.
“We are so grateful for all that Wendy, Lizzie, Lauren and the incredible cast and crew have put it in ‘Great North’,” said Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network. “It’s hard to say goodbye, but I’m grateful for five hilarious seasons, “The Great North,” brought to the iconic animation dominant lineup.”
The animated comedy originally debuted on the broadcast network in January 2021, closing its fifth final season in September 2025. The series was created and written by Wendy Molynu and Lizzy Molynu Rogerin, executive producers of “Bob’s Burger,” and author Minty Lewis.
The Molyneux sisters served as executive producers and showrunners. “Bob’s Burger” creator Lauren Bouchard was also an executive producer. The series was the 20th TV animation production, with the animation being produced through Bento Box Entertainment.
The series starred Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Will Forte, Paul Rust, Aparna Nancharla, Dulce Sloan, Megan Marley and Alanis Morissette.
The show’s official logline states, “The Tobin family’s Alaskan adventure, Single Dad Beef (Offerman) is doing his best to bring a bunch of children closer, especially his only daughter, Judy (Slate), who is brother Ham (Rusbi) and his 10-year-old brother (Nancherla).
Fox announced in April that they had updated the Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burger, The Simpsons and Family Guy for four seasons respectively. Additionally, “American Dad” officially returns to Fox for the 2025-2026 season, with four seasons of picks as well. Other Fox animation shows include “Krapopolis”, “Grimsburg” and “Universal Basic Guys.”
