Despite heavy rain and wind in Los Angeles, the red carpet officially began at the Governor’s Awards.
Among the first to arrive are Ariana Grande, Jeremy Strong and Elle Fanning.
The 16th annual Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences event is considered a key milestone for awards season nominees, presenting honorary awards to Tom Cruise, Debbie Allen and production designer Wynne Thomas. Dolly Parton is scheduled to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, but it was previously announced that the music superstar would not be performing due to health issues.
The four Oscar statuettes will be handed out at the dinner and ceremony at Ovation Hollywood’s Ray Dolby Ballroom.
