There is his truth, her truth.
Glenn Powell, following a flirty press tour with “anyone” Sydney Sweeney, spoke to the split from Gigi Paris, saying that he has the right to “his own story” of the situation.
“I’ve always had nothing but love for her and respect for her,” the 36-year-old actor told GQ on Tuesday.
“Everyone will always have their own story about things and stuff, and she is welcoming.”
“The relationship is really difficult,” Powell admitted, adding, “When they break up, they’ll each go to their own brunch and each one tells their own story.”
He went on to praise his “Top Gun: Maverick” co-star Tom Cruise and advised him on how to navigate speculation about his love life.
“He basically said, ‘Hey, that’s really, really, really loud. Just lowering the volume is your job. Remember, you’re putting your hands on that switch. You have your hands on the ability to raise that noise or lower it,” Powell recalled.
He shared that “controlling the noise and trusting (his own) intestines” is “real God-giving” for him.
Powell and Paris broke up in April 2024 after more than three years of dates. By then, he and his on-screen love interest Sweeney had already sparked rumors of romance by appearing to be loved on the set of rom-coms.
“Smashed” model, 33, reflected the split from Powell in a June episode of “Too Many Podcasts,” claiming the actor told her about his lustful relationship with Sweeney.
It felt like Paris had “two options.” She could “pretend that she (she) is going together.”
Her second option was to “stomp up” for herself, saying, “No, I’m not actually okay with this and I decided to leave.”
“I just wanted respect, especially if it was public,” she explained. “Like, don’t make a butt out of me. Don’t make fun of the person you’ve been with for more than three years. Don’t talk to me forever.
Paris also accused Powell of not shutting down all the chatter, saying, “No, I’m not going to fool my girlfriend.”
But “it wasn’t said, never once said,” she believes that it’s because gossip “serves them for their PR” for their films.
Paris lamented.
Sweeney’s relationship was similarly a hit. She and her ex-fiance, Jonathan Davino, also broke up after “a person other than who.”
A few days later, the 27-year-old actress went to Powell’s sister’s wedding.
However, they each seem to have set their sight elsewhere.
Over the weekend, Powell was discovered on an obvious day with Olivia Jade Giannuli. Meanwhile, Sweeney is currently being pursued by Scooter Brown.
