Legendary actor Glenn Close will be immortalized in a handprint and footprint ceremony outside the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
The ceremony will be held on May 1st as part of the 2026 TCM Classic Film Festival, which will be held from April 30th to May 3rd.
Last year, Close starred in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Deadman: Knives Out Mystery. Later this year, she will appear as Drusilla Sickle in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Close teased about his role: “It’s huge. There’s a lot of extras, helicopters, tanks and horses.”
She recently joined the Ryan Murphy drama, playing a wily divorce lawyer in Hulu’s difficult drama “All’s Fair.” “I was being intimidated,” she admits. “I had never acted in any of Ryan’s movies or shows. … I didn’t understand his tone for a while. It was difficult.”
Crows will be presenting a special screening of Dangerous Liaisons as part of the festival.
“I still remember the first time I saw Glenn Close on the big screen,” said Ben Mankiewicz, host of TCM Primetime and official host of the TCM Classic Film Festival. I’ll never forget watching her in The Big Chill, where she gave a memorable, layered performance that revealed the extraordinary talent, intelligence, and emotional depth that has defined her career ever since. He added: “More than 40 years later, she continues to captivate audiences from her earliest roles to powerful late performances such as ‘The Wife,’ and we are proud to celebrate her enduring legacy at this year’s festival.”
Close is joined by Jodie Foster, Michelle Pfeiffer, George Clooney, Jamie Lee Curtis, Diane Keaton and others to immortalize her outside Hollywood’s famous courtyard.
The TCM Classic Film Festival celebrates the power of classic cinema through screenings, special events, and appearances by legendary talent.
