“Super Mario Galaxy Movie” features Glen Powell bringing to life Fox MacLeod, a Nintendo character who makes a surprise appearance in Mario Bros., and many more top-notch voice actors have gathered together.
Powell posted a video on Instagram Friday announcing the news. He recently starred in the thriller “How to Make a Killing” this year and also appeared in “The Running Man” last year. Like the space pilot Fox from the game “Star Fox,” Powell took to the skies with his breakout role in 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick.”
Chris Pratt and Charlie Day return as Mario and Luigi as they blast off into space in Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Beach, Jack Black as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad will also be returning. The sequel also stars Donald Glover as Yoshi, Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., and Brie Larson as Rosalina.
Fox’s inclusion was a surprise, but eagle-eyed Nintendo fans got a glimpse of the character in the recent “Super Mario Galaxy Movie” trailer. He is best known as the protagonist of the action video game “Star Fox” and as one of the original characters in the Nintendo fighting game “Super Smash Bros.”. Fox is playable in all Smash Bros. You can enjoy the game with Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi. Other “Mario” characters also joined the roster in later years, including Bowser, Peach, Diddy Kong, Rosalina, and Bowser Jr. Fox’s “Star Fox” co-pilot Falco Lombardi and villain Wolf O’Donnell were both added to later “Smash Bros.” games as well.
Fox isn’t the only “Smash Bros.” A character that crosses over to “Super Mario Galaxy Movie”. Previous trailers featured cameos from the colorful Pikmin, the plant-animal hybrids used in “Smash Bros.” Captain Olimar is a fighter that appears in the Nintendo game Pikmin. There was also a shot of ROB, a real toy accessory for the Famicom that was turned into a fighter from “Super Smash Bros.”
