“George has been diagnosed with a sinus infection and is under doctor’s orders to cut back on all activities today,” says the “11” actor’s representative.
The news comes after 64-year-old Clooney skipped press junkets for his new film, “Jay Kelly,” and missed dinner with castmates Adam Sandler and Laura Dern that night.
The “Batman & Robin” star also missed the official press conference for the Netflix film on Thursday.
“You may know, but George Clooney is not here because he has a bad sinus infection,” the moderator at the press conference said according to people.
“We really hope. I think he should be on the red carpet tonight, but it’s a shame he can’t be with us.”
“Jay Kelly” director Noah Bambach jokingly added that “even movie stars get sick.”
George and his wife, Amal Clooney, arrived in the “City of Water” on Tuesday.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, waved to the fans as they left the boat before heading to the hotel.
Amal, 47, was stunned in the Butter Yellow Midi Holtern Dress from the Balmaines Resort 2026 Collection. The gown had a large pocket and an internal belt with a thick gold buckle.

Meanwhile, George saw the Dapper with a black polo, cream pants and tongue suede loafers.
But by Wednesday, the two-time Oscar winners were found to leave Hotel Excelsior to take their boat home to rest.
