George Clooney still insists he and his wife Amal Clooney have “never had an argument” in their more than 10 years of marriage.
Three years after making the outlandish claims on CBS Mornings, the actor doubled down in an interview with Los Angeles Time.
When a journalist called George’s comments “hard to believe” after 11 years of marriage, the Oscar winner made his point.
“I was 52 years old,” the “Ocean’s Eleven” star explained. “There’s a reason premium rates for 16- to 25-year-olds are substandard. It’s offensive.”
“I had no intention of remarrying,” he continued, referring to his first marriage to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, “but I fell madly in love with the person who changed that.”
George, father of eight-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, said he too “didn’t want to have kids” but met Amal and changed his mind.
“I feel much more secure and less anxious to win arguments,” he told the outlet. “When you’re young, you try to win everything.”
The Golden Globe winner said he is “not giving in” and that it is “true” that he and Amal will not fight.
“Nice try,” Clooney told reporters. “You’re going to get me into trouble with my wife.”
When George’s claims first hit the headlines in 2022, Amal said George’s unlikely argument was “upsetting” to his loved ones.
“I have a cousin, and every time I meet him, he says, ‘The first question he asks is, ‘So, have you had a fight yet?'” before saying, “Hello,” the human rights lawyer said at the time.
Travis Kelsey confronted George last month over a confession he made on his New Heights podcast.
George denied “lying” and directed the question back to the Kansas City Chiefs player, who is engaged to Taylor Swift.
“You’re right, even though it’s only been two and a half years,” the 36-year-old athlete joked. “We’ve never had an argument. Never.”
Kylie Kelsey berated her brother-in-law for what she believed was a “sarcastic…joke” in a subsequent episode, but Travis doubled down.
“Me and Tay, we never fight,” he told listeners.
Travis and the pop star, 36, have been dating since the summer of 2023.
George started dating Amal in 2013 and popped the question the following year while walking down the Virgin Road at a 2014 wedding in Italy.
