Are there too many shaggy litters?
George Clooney was absolutely destroyed after being snuggled at the 2025 Tony Awards.
The “Ocean’s Eleven” star recalled drinking too much alcohol after not winning an award on Broadway’s biggest night in an interview with Esquire released Monday.
“I’ve been blown up. I’m a drunkard barely roaming around, right?” said Clooney, 64.
The two-time Oscar winner was nominated for five awards, including Best Leader, for his role in Broadway’s “Goodnight and Good Luck.” However, he decides to leave the event without new admiration and drink his grief at an afterparty.
“(i) I came home with Amal and I was just laughing, we were lying in bed.
“I was sick all day the next day. It was hysterical,” he added. “I was like a high school drunk. I was like a stupid drunk.”
George’s drunken stmas was the result of knocking back too many drinks after basically cutting off the liquor for six months when rehearsed for the show.
Tequila Mogul explained that alcohol consumption was eased while working on a theatre project, as it could affect a person’s voice and sleep cycle.
He also wanted to avoid a hangover – something that became more frequent with age.
This is not the first time George has discussed how he went too far with a cocktail, and he once admitted to appearing drunk on the set of the 1996 film One Fine Day.
George and his co-star Michelle Pfeiffer remembered that the actor was drinking too much before he showed up early in his conversation with Variety in 2021.
“I woke up at 5am,” Clooney told Pfeiffer. “I feel like it’s okay.” Then I looked in the mirror and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m still drunk.’ ”
“I got to the set, we walked over to the trailer, sat down and you looked at me. You were like, ‘What?’ and I was like, ‘I didn’t know I was going to work today.’ And you said, “You’re still drunk.”
George said he continued to try and spray listerine into his mouth as he filmed the scene to hide the alcohol.
“It’s the scene we did in Oner, where you and I are going back and forth between each other,” continued Clooney. “I kept trying to spray anything I could because it smelled like I could –“
“Like a brewery,” Pfeiffer stopped.
“Like a distillery,” Clooney agreed.
