Others who attended the service include Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Laura (Ginny Francis), Olivia (Lisa Rocicero), Lucy Coe (Lynne Herring), and Michael (Rory Gibson).
Various people gave speeches during the service. Ned spoke to Elizabeth’s patience and willingness to teach, while she said the house felt empty without her, and Laura recalled how calm Monica, who had been both at work and at life, was on TV.
However, Monica’s stubborn sister-in-law, Tracy (Jane Elliott), overcomes the emotions and insists that she cannot speak during the memorial.
The two-part tribute comes eight months after General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini announced Charlesson’s death on January 12th on the show’s official Instagram page.
Charlesson began playing the role of Monica in 1977 and became a cast member who appeared on the show. She was also a four-time daytime Emmy candidate.
“I only signed on for two years, but I don’t know what happened,” Charleston told Digital Journal in 2019 about his time on the show. “There weren’t many roles for women who had it at the time. It was an incredible time and it was a powerful resource to act.”
Valentini said Charleston has a “lasting legacy.” “For nearly 50 years at General Hospital alone, Leslie was the beloved patriarch of the entire cast and crew, just as Monica was the centre of Quartermain.”

“We’ll miss out on our daily chat, her quick wit and her incredible presence on set,” Valentini said. “On behalf of everyone at General Hospital, my sincere sympathy can be passed on to her loved ones during this difficult time.”
