Gov. Gavin Newsom appeared at a pre-Super Bowl party Thursday night.
Spies witnessed Newsom attending two starry parties. The politician was spotted heading to Rao’s pop-up ahead of a big match this week.
As Newsom entered, security guards tried to sneak in to keep him away from cameras and reporters. Our sources overheard one of the security guards pushing Newsom away and saying he was trying to frame the California Post.
The pop-up is a replica of New York’s famous red sauce restaurant, Rao’s, and was hosted that night by NFL legend Joe Montana.
Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi also appeared at the event and reportedly chatted with Polymarket’s CEO on her way to the venue.
One source said that at the Rao’s pop-up, “Newsome’s table was pretty popular, and I would say there were a lot of people around that table.”
Also in attendance at the party were NFL legends Ronnie Lott, Steve Young, and Marcus Allen, as well as Stephen A. Smith and football player Midge Purse.
Newsome was also spotted attending Marshawn Lynch’s Super Bowl bash at the annual WME x TKO Lounge that evening.
We’re told Newsom avoided any photos at the event.
Lynch and Newsom previously hosted the podcast “Politickin'” together. The WME event at Epic Steak benefited the Fam1st Foundation, including a silent auction of photos of the multi-talented Lynch. There was also a surprise pop-up performance by Bay Area talent.
This week’s Rao’s Dinner, hosted by Crypto.com, was attended by Roger Goodell, Russell Wilson, Ciara, American Cancer Society CEO Shane Jacobson, David and Nicole Tepper, Ron Berkowitz, Kenny Dichter, as well as Rao’s Frank Pellegrino Jr., Ron Strathy, and Chef Dino Gatto, the Meatball Mayor himself.
