Money

Fortnite developers can sell items directly from the Fortnite Islands in December.

This recent development opens up payments for new revenue possibilities and engagement from Fortnite Item Shop sales. Developers earn 50% of V-Bucks value from the island’s sales. From December to the end of 2026, the rate will be 100%.

According to a press release, Fortnite’s average platform and store fees are currently 26% (there are certain fees ranging from 12% for epic game stores to 30% for console platforms). Therefore, 50% of V-Bucks value is converted to about 37% of retail spending, and 100% of V-Bucks value is converted to about 74%.

Developers will use poetry-based APIs and new UEFN tools to create and provide durable items and consumables that can be purchased in-game.

Fortnite creators will continue to receive payments based on player engagement on the island. The Engagement Payout Formula places 40% of the net revenue from Fortnite’s item shop and associated real money purchases in the engagement pool.

On November 1st, creators who invite new or expired players will receive 75% of their contributions to the engagement payout pool for the first six months. Also added in November is the Sponsored Row in Discover, allowing creators to spend money on the island to increase visibility.

Starting November 17th, creators will be able to set up campaigns within the creator portal, bid for placement, and become familiar with the tools. On November 24th, a new sponsored row section was discovered, providing creators with a predictable and scalable way to improve their discovery.

Fortnite will soon launch a community of creators that will build a community forum with island updates, event information, feedback requests and more. Additionally, players can choose to update and play the creator’s island before any other game modes are installed later this year.

Technology

StreamLabs launched Intelligent Steam Agent and Streams AI at the global gaming event Logitech G Play 2025.

Currently available on StreamLabs desktop, Intelligent Streaming Agent is a virtual co-host, live producer and technical assistant built into one AI-powered tool. Agents will support Fortnite with additional game titles that are expected to be deployed soon.

The Intelligent Streaming Agent is designed for streamers at all experience levels and helps you manage streams, interact with your audience, and handle behind-the-scenes tasks without the need for a full production crew. Each feature is fully customizable, allowing authors to adjust the agent to suit their own content and style.

Intelligent Streaming Agents are free to use with a limited set of interactions and automation. There is also an upgrade to Ultra for higher usage restrictions and unlimited automation.

3D avatars are optional. Streamers who prefer a simpler setup can use the agent in background mode, which acts as a producer or technical assistant without being displayed on the screen.

Additionally, StreamLabs AI is now available to developers as a software development kit. This model detects exciting in-game events such as Elimination, Wins, and Health Drops. This creates dynamic overlays, responsive widgets, and seamless hardware integration.

Developers can build fully customized reactive tools from the ground up, unlocking new possibilities for an immersive, interactive live streaming experience for the first time.
