X-Rate festival favorite “Fuck My Son” is heading to the theater near you.
The team behind The Horror-Comedy, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of this year’s Midnight Madness Slate, has announced the first batch of screenings scheduled to begin in mid-October.
A long-length adaptation of Todd Rohall’s Johnny Ryan’s destructive comic book – he met with laughs, moans and even several strikes on his TIFF debut on September 10th.
“Instead of handing over the film to traditional distributors, ‘Fuck my son!” Collective will be released through a filmmaker-led Collective, a new model that combines the independence of DIY films with a range of industry expertise, announced in a statement. “This release is managed by a partnership between a filmmaker, an experienced theatre booker and a former studio executive. This collaborative structure allows filmmakers to retain full ownership of the film while still drawing out resources, strategies and connections normally reserved for studio-backed relationships. The goal is simple.
The collection consists of Todd Rohall (writer, director, producer, editor, postspervisor, VFX artist, accountant, mixing assistant, “Fuck Myson!”). Writer/director of “Septien”, “Summer of Ping Pong”, “Don’t Leave the House.”
