Frankie Muniz reflects on his life-changing decision to leave Hollywood.
The 39-year-old former child star spent a bunch of filming films from his childhood and shows like Middle in the Agent Cody Banks. He recalled how he began to be victimized from “from 8 and 21 years old, I took 60 days off,” he told us every week in an interview on September 3rd.
His decision to finally leave Los Angeles in 2008 and start a new life in Arizona came at the peak of his career, but Muniz said the move actually “saved” his life.
“To be honest, I didn’t like LA, so I moved to Arizona and I love it,” he told the outlet. “It was easy to hike (and go to the grocery store, and it felt like I saved my life in the sense that I enjoyed a little side of life more.”

He sometimes acknowledges how his life might be different if he hadn’t left the acting scene – telling his agents and managers “Don’t call me” – he still believes he is where he intends to be.
“I’m very fortunate because I was able to take that step. “It allowed me to do other things and achieve more about myself.”
Muniz is currently based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and lives with his wife, Paige Muniz, who has been with his nearly six years of wife, and his three-year-old son, Mauz Mosley.
After moving to Arizona, Muniz has more time to focus on pivoting for a new career, driving a professional race car. The actor, who started racing in 2004 and began his professional career in 2006, is now a full-time driver for the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck series with Reaume Brothers Racing.

In an exclusive interview with People in February, Muniz was frank about achieving his goal of becoming a full-time professional driver, especially after experiencing a crash in 2009, which left his broken back.
“I didn’t expect to get where I was now, especially since I was seriously injured in 2009 and didn’t race anything until 2023,” he said at the time.

Muniz also opened up to people about his family life and what a big reason his son, Mouse, was once again behind the wheels after his injury.
“I went back to the race with him in mind,” he said.
Regarding fatherhood, he said, “I love it. I always strive to be the best dad I can be. I think I’m a good dad, but I always feel I can get better.
