Fran Lebowitz brought New York’s deadpan humor to Cleveland.
The author and cultural critic was in town for “An Evening with Fran Lebowitz” at Playhouse Square, providing “an unforgettable evening of razor-sharp wit and unapologetic honesty.”
However, a source said that during the Q&A, an audience member asked her, “Has anyone ever told you that you look like Bob Dylan?” and she said the same thing.
“Fran was confused and said, ‘Uh, no,'” a source told Page Six.
The fan asked me several questions, including my thoughts on AI and Elon Musk.
The pregnant woman asked Lebowitz a more personal question. She wanted some recommended books for her baby’s nursery school library.
Sources say that the always resourceful Ms. Libowitz told expectant mothers that she would buy her children whatever books she was reading at the time, and then later wrote a book, “I hope you haven’t read this book yet.”
A native New Yorker, she also talked about the upcoming mayoral election, revealed that she traveled abroad and that everyone was asking about Zoran Mamdani.
“She said she had never seen the world pay so much attention to local elections,” the source said.
Libowitz isn’t the only New Yorker to end up in Cleveland, Ohio this month.
Alicia Keys brought her Tony Award-winning musical “Hell’s Kitchen” to town, setting up shop in one of the city’s luxury apartment complexes for two weeks.
