Ned Fulmer tearfully revealed over the weekend his “secret” 12-year battle with health.
The former Try Guys member partnered with WalkMS on Sunday for an emotional YouTube video in which he shared that he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2013.
“I actually have MS. I’ve been living with it since 2013,” the 38-year-old told viewers. “It’s relapsing-remitting MS.”
Fulmer’s condition is “something I wanted to keep secret because I was afraid to talk about it,” but she wants to “be more open” to “help other people.”
“One day I woke up and couldn’t move my legs,” he said, explaining that he collapsed on the bathroom floor and was rushed to the hospital for a spinal tap.
After steroid injections and plasma exchange, Fulmer “started to feel better” and “gained his strength back.”
“At some point, amazingly, I realized I could move my legs again,” he recalls. “It felt like a miracle.”
Fulmer’s current symptoms include “numbness in her hands almost every day” and a constant fear that “one day she will wake up and not be able to walk.”
Before releasing the video, Fulmer spoke to Us Weekly about her 2013 onset of MS, which was “completely overwhelming and sudden.”
“It started with numbness and tingling in my hands and spread to my arms, chest and back,” he said, revealing that he underwent an MRI scan before the fall.
Fulmer is “stabilized for now,” but is experiencing “gastrointestinal side effects” from the twice-daily medication.
Fulmer’s “ongoing sensory symptoms, such as numbness and tingling (in the fingers),” are “low enough,” he said, to be “negligible.”
“My symptoms can sometimes be exacerbated by heat, cold, alcohol, stress, lack of sleep, etc. These are all things I always keep an eye on,” he clarified.
Fulmer married Ariel Fulmer when he was diagnosed with MS.
He admitted cheating on his partner, 40, in 2022 and was fired from Try Guys due to a “consensual working relationship”.
“I apologize for the pain my actions have caused our players, our fans, and most of all, Ariel. All that matters now is my marriage and my children,” he wrote at the time, referring to his sons Wesley and Finley. “That’s where I’m going to focus my attention.”
The former couple survived the scandal but separated in September.
The duo is “working on something new,” his rep told People earlier this year.
