For 20 years, Christophe Riandee, former assistant CEO of Gaumont, has signed on as the executive producer of Excellence Park, an international drama series located on the grounds of the world’s most exclusive Butler Academy.
Riandée, who was the driving force behind the launch of Gaumont’s television division and led a surge in global hits, including “Narcos,” “Lupine,” “Karl Lagerfeld,” and “Become Hannibal,” will join forces in the UK with unconditional photos.
Dawn McDaniel, co-founder and executive producer of credits such as “Moll Flanders”, “Holby City”, and “Mansour”, co-created the format based on original ideas by French writer and actor Mathieu Simonet. With credits such as “Ocean’s Twelve” and “Days of Glory,” Simonet is the eldest son of Oscar-winning French director Jacques Perrin (“Winged Migration”).
While the plot is wrapped, the series is billed as something that modern-day “Downton Abbey” encounters “the only murder in the building.”
“Matthew’s great ideas have everything the audience long for. This world-class IP was a privilege to nurture and develop,” says McDaniel, who praised Riandée’s involvement. “Christophe’s taste, commercial brilliance, and integrity are everything we wanted and a great verification of the material,” continued McDaniel.
Speaking about the “Excellence Park,” Riandee said: “This premise and vision has not been more prominent than ever in the international butler world. The timing is perfect.”
Riandée states, “Dawn and Mathieu have developed a rich, intriguing, original and extremely persuasive world.
