After 10 years and more than 40 seasons, Food Network’s weekend talk show “The Kitchen” will end this December.
Co-hosted by Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian, and recurring guest star Alex Guarnaschelli, the Emmy-nominated series focuses on discussing recipes, food trends, and family meal tips, and began airing in January 2014 and concludes with its final episode on Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m. ET.
Production sources said the show’s cancellation comes as the network evaluates its resources and priorities for the new year’s programming lineup, and as Warner Bros. Discovery moves forward with plans to separate the linear channel portion of its business from its streaming service and studio.
“For more than a decade, Sonny, Katie, Jeff, Jeffrey, and most recently Alex have captivated viewers with their unique and unique food sensibilities and senses of humor, which make The Kitchen a delicious hour to spend,” said Betsy Ayala, Head of Food Content, Warner Bros. Discovery. “We all know that every good party ends in ‘The Kitchen’ where the conversation, laughter, and food flows. The best parties probably end a little sooner than some guests would like, but we have 12 years of memories and wanted to celebrate the hard work of this team this last holiday season.”
Spanning 10 years, “The Kitchens” has included memorable guests such as actors Daniel Radcliffe, Regina King, Tony Shalhoub, Susan Lucci, Debi Mazar, Hayley Duff, Melissa Gilbert, Angela Kinsey, Bridget Moynahan, Raven-Symone and Tiffani Thiessen. Musicians include Martina McBride, Rev Run, Vanilla Ice, Trisha Yearwood, and Joey Fatone. Media hosts Willie Geist, Sunny Hostin, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Daphne Oz. Fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi. And, of course, celebrity chefs like Martha Stewart, Lidia Bastianich, Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck, Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, Ree Drummond, and Carla Hall will also be in attendance.
“The Kitchen” is produced by Garden Slate Productions for the Food Network.
