Now she can “work from home.”
Fifth harmony singer Lauren Jauregui delivered a silly reply after being eliminated from “dance with the stars” on Tuesday night.
When asked how she felt about finishing a short time with the ABC dance competition series, she responded in a single word with the words “I was upset.”
The audience immediately chuckled, and her dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, laughed heartily.
The 29-year-old singer continued to acknowledge how she was “thank you” with Armstrong.
“I’m so grateful that I had you as a partner,” she told him.
The episode of the show on Thursday was based on the theme of “Tiktok Night” and began to perform Jauregui and Armstrong’s 2017 hit song “Work of Home.”
She and Dance Pro have incorporated dance moves from Song’s music video. This was choreographed by Shawn Bankhead, who was in the ballroom showing his support.
Also in the audience last night there were bandmates from Jauregui: Normani, Dinah Jane, Ally Brooke-Camila Cabello, nowhere to be seen.
Jauregui fans had field day with her dull reaction to being launched just three weeks later.
“She was very real to this. I loved the honest reaction from her. I was angry too!” One fan wrote in an Instagram comment, “I’m not trying to be rude, but there’s actually no way someone out there has a bigger fan base than Lauren… I don’t buy it.
“It’s the perfect word that made me mad,” the second supporter wrote.
“She gave us a face, sincerity, anger and charm. She was symbolic and got mad early.
Jauregui’s integrity drew comparisons with former “DWTS” competitor Anna Delvey.
After Delvey and Ezra Sosa were eliminated in the second week of season 33, “fake heirs” were asked to “take away from the competition.”
“Nothing,” Delby famously replied, prompting a meme worthy moment that went viral online.
Jauregui discussed her exclusion in more detail in a post-show interview, telling her that she could dance with Armstrong on “Good Morning America” and that she would “truly” miss out on the show, saying she would be able to dance with Armstrong.
“It’s such a special place, so (I’m) mad about it,” she admitted.
