Felix Solis has been added to the pilot for NBC’s “Rockford Files” reboot, Variety reports.
Solis will join previously announced lead actor David Boreanaz and fellow cast members Michaela McManus and Jacki Weaver.
The show’s official logline reads: “A newly paroled ex-convict, James Rockford (Boreanaz) returns to his life as a private investigator, using his charm and wit to solve cases around Los Angeles. It doesn’t take long for his quest for legitimacy to find him squarely in the crosshairs of both local law enforcement and organized crime.”
Solis will play the role of Niti. “A close friend of Rockford, Nitti turned his life around and became a successful defense attorney in South L.A., staying in the community and helping make a difference,” the official character description reads.
Solis became the third SEAL team graduate to join Boreanaz and McManus in the pilot. Solis appeared on the military drama as Colonel Martinez during the show’s second season. Solis is best known for his work on shows like “The Rookie” and its spinoff “The Rookie: Feds,” as well as shows like “Ozark,” “The Recruit,” “Charmed” and “Siren.” His film credits include “The Friend,” “Unfrosted,” “Talulah,” “New York Story,” and “Man on a Ledge.”
He is repped by D2 Management.
The pilot for “The Rockford Files” will be written by writer and executive producer Mike Daniels. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman will serve as executive producers, with Chris Lianza serving as co-executive producer. In addition to starring, Boreanaz will also serve as a producer. In addition to directing, Greg Mottola will also serve as executive producer of the pilot. The studio is Universal Television.
