Famke Janssen will be appearing in the upcoming MPI original feature film, “One Second After.”

Based on William R. Forstchen’s novel of the same name, “One Second After” takes place in the aftermath of an electromagnetic pulse attack on the United States. The film explores the collapse of society, the struggles of individuals and communities to survive without modern technology or infrastructure, and the resilience of humans in the face of harsh new reality.

Janssen plays Mayor Kate Lindsey, a politician who takes over during the crisis. She was joined by Josh Holloway (“Duster”, “Lost”, “Yellowstone”) and Hannah John Kamen (“Thunderbolt*” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp”).

The script is written by J. Michael Strakinski (“Sense8”, “Jeremiah”, “Babylon 5”) and produced by MPI’s original films Rob Pfaltzgraff and Nick Reid (“Motherland”, “Pinball: The Man Who Save The Game”) and Matt Kennedy of Startingling Inc (“Game”). Second Unit Director and Stunt Coordinator Scott Rogers (Tron: Ares, John Wick: Chapter 4) directs the film.

Janssen is best known for portraying Jean Gray in the “X-Men” film franchise and starring in the 20th century Fox’s “Take” trilogy. Her other acting credits include playing the role of James Bond’s villain Zegna in “Golden Eye,” “Rock In,” “Boy Kills World,” “Maid,” “Hansel & Gretel: The Witch Hunter,” “The Hidden Pattern,” “Round,” “Faculty,” and “Redness of Love.”

The actress made her directorial debut in the 2011 dramatic drama “Bringing Uping Bobby,” starring Milla Jovovich. Janssen also starred in “Blacklist: Red” (NBC), “Hemlock Glove” (Netflix), and reappeared in “NIP/TUCK” (FX) and “How To Awath with Murder” (ABC).

Janssen is represented by IAG, Artists Partnership, Link Entertainment and Jill Fritzo PR.
