Elisha Cuthbert participated in the Amazon Prime Video series “Every Year After,” an adaptation of Carrie Fortune’s novel “Every Summer After.”

Cuthbert appears repeatedly in the role of guest star as Sue Florek, Sam Florek’s mother. She announced previous participants of lead Sadi Sobourg and Matt Cornett. He plays Percy and Sam, respectively.

The official logline for “Every Year” states, “told for six years and a week at Bally’s Bay, a typical lake town – “Every Year” is a romantic and nostalgic story of the first love, people and choices that mark us forever.”

Cuthbert is best known for her roles in shows such as “Ranche,” “Happy Endings,” and “24,” as well as films such as “The Girl Next Door” and “House of Wax.” She recently wrapped up the production with the feature “Bandit,” alongside Josh Duhamel and Mel Gibson, but has recently worked on the feature “Seller” on the other side of Eoin McKen.

She is represented by the CAA and the principal.

Amy B. Harris will be the showrunner and executive producer of the series. Fortune is also an executive producer along with Lindsay Riveratore, Amy Lardin, John Stephens and Grace Gilroy.

“Every Summer After” was originally published in 2022. The so-called Booktok Online Community defended the novel, with the hashtag “After Every Summer” gaining over 81 million views on Tiktok. The book has spent 14 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold over a million copies to date. Other Fortune novels are “It’s Different This Summer” and “I’ll Meet Me at the Lake.”

This will be the latest entry into Amazon’s YA space. The streamer has achieved certain successes in the series The Summer I Tunder Pretty. Other recent YA shows on Amazon include “The Runarounds” and “Maxton Hall,” with upcoming shows including series adaptations of “Legally Blonde” prequels “Elle,” Megan Park’s “Sterling Point,” and Elle Kennedy’s “Off Campus.”
