Sidney Sweeney is bracing herself for how emotional she’ll be when she finishes filming season 3 of Euphoria.
Actress Kathy Howard was honored as one of the cover stars at Variety magazine’s 2025 Power of Women ceremony in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. She revealed that she plans to return for the final two days of filming “Euphoria” Season 3 on Thursday and Sunday.
“It’s going to be a really bittersweet moment,” Sweeney told Variety’s Angelique Jackson about ending the season on the Power of Women red carpet. “It’s kind of scary how emotional it’s going to be. It’s been such a long journey. It’s been all of my 20s. They’ve been my family and friends for a long time. I’m forever grateful to them all.”
Sweeney, now 28, told Variety’s Marc Malkin this week: “I was 20 when I shot the pilot, so it was a huge relief to see so many of the same people.”
Not much is known about Season 3 other than it will be released in Spring 2026 and will feature many returning cast members and newcomers, including Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Daniel Deadwyler, and Eli Roth.
The Sweeney’s co-star Jacob Elordi said that Euphoria creator Sam Levinson had “constructed something incredibly smart and cinematic.”
“It was incredibly liberating,” Elordi said. “We had to play something that was quite different from what we had done before.”
Sweeney will next be seen in the boxing biopic Christie, playing real-life champion Christie Martin, who accompanied the Power of Women. She also stars in Sony’s remake of “Barbarella” and is also an executive producer. Jane Fonda, who starred in the original 1968 sci-fi film, also attended Wednesday’s Power of Women. Sweeney said on the red carpet that he wanted to pick Fonda’s brain for the remake.
“If you see us in the corner all the time, just know that I’m asking you everything,” she said.
