Eric McCormack is legally required to pay ex-wife Janet Holden $10,000 a month in “unmodifiable” spousal support for nearly 10 years.
A judge signed the ex-lovers’ divorce settlement on Monday. According to court documents obtained by People, McCormack cannot contest the $10,000 monthly payments to her ex-husband until 2035, when she can seek amendments.
McCormack and Holden also agreed to split equally the income from projects they worked on during their marriage (from August 3, 1997 to the date of their separation, February 12, 2024). This includes income from his signature sitcom “Will & Grace.”
In terms of property, Holden owns a home and two condominiums in Los Angeles, and retains exclusive use of his home in Vancouver for five years unless he buys out or sells the actor’s stake.
McCormack, 62, maintains a beach house.
As for their son Finnigan, 23, they agreed to split his expenses and the cost of setting up a trust for him, People reported.
Mr. McCormack’s average monthly salary is $92,000, and Mr. Holden’s average monthly salary is $23,000, according to the documents.
The two met on the set of the TV series “Lonesome Dove” in 1994. At the time, she was an assistant director and he was playing Francis Clay Mosby. The two went public with their relationship in 1995 and married two years later.
After 26 years of marriage, Holden filed for divorce in November 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Still, McCormack continued to wear her wedding ring after their breakup.
The two appeared friendly at the Oscar party in March 2024.
McCormack put his arm around her during a photo shoot at an Elton John AIDS Foundation event, and they were also seen holding hands at the event.
Despite their loving relationship, the two decided to divorce, which was resolved out of court in November 2025.
