Eric Dane’s girlfriend Janelle Shirtcliff has paid tribute to the late actor in a series of posts following his shocking death.
The director and photographer, who stood by the “Grey’s Anatomy” alumnus during his battle with ALS, posted some memories of Dane on his Instagram Story on Friday.
She began her post with a photo of the late star sitting under a palm tree, smiling and looking down at her through dark shades.
Shirtcliffe, 42, posted a snap of Dane kissing her on the head as they posed together on the steps outside a building. In this lovely photo, she especially appeared to be wearing similar Gucci loafers.
The rest of the post showed Dane in good spirits, smiling broadly as he spent time with Shirtcliff and others.
As a final memory, the photographer shared a clip of Dane posing for his daughter (whose name has not yet been released) and attempting to direct the actor while taking a photo of him.
“I want you to look at your mother over there,” his daughter told him, and he happily agreed.
When Mr Shirtcliffe turned his attention to her, Mr Dane turned his head to look at his girlfriend before asking: “Are you taking a video?”
“That’s cute,” Shirtcliffe was heard replying, and the couple laughed.
Reports about Dane and Shirtcliff’s relationship surfaced in June last year, shortly after Dane revealed that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
A source told Entertainment Tonight at the time that the couple had been in an “on-and-off relationship for over three years” and “cared deeply about each other.”
“Eric asked Janelle to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him,” the source added.
The two made their romance public later that day, making their red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere of Countdown.
The actor appeared to have ended his relationship with wife Rebecca Gayheart, whom he married in 2004, but the two remained married until his death on Thursday.
Dane passed away at the age of 53 after a short battle with a neurodegenerative disease.
In his final days, he was surrounded by his “dearest friends, devoted wife (Rebecca Gayheart), and two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia,” who were the center of his world, according to a statement from his family.
