Eric Dane reportedly “reunited” with ex-girlfriend Priya Jain before his death.
“In the months leading up to Eric’s death, Priya and Eric reconnected as friends,” a source told Us Weekly on Friday.
A source told the outlet that after their breakup in the summer, “it was more important for them to remain friends.”
Jayne said she was shocked when the “Grey’s Anatomy” star passed away on Thursday.
“Priya never expected it to happen so soon,” the source said, referring to Dane’s battle with ALS, which she announced in April 2025.
A source said Jayne was “so in love” with the “Euphoria” star, adding: “He was a very special person.”
They also shared that Jayne “has a great love for her family” and “knows how difficult this is for her daughters.”
Jayne is “very sad and devastated,” the outlet said, adding that his daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, are “grateful they are there to keep his memory alive.”
Representatives for Jayne and Dane did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Saturday. The former couple had been “dating for a year,” a source revealed in June.
The couple’s sudden split was revealed when Dane attended the Los Angeles premiere of Countdown, in which he co-starred with director Janel Shirtcliffe, and Dane is said to have been “blindsided” by the development.
“They never broke up,” a source told Page Six at the time. According to our sources, Jayne and the “Brilliant Minds” actor met in the summer of 2024 and became “exclusive” in November of the same year.
Dane was then diagnosed with ALS, which he announced publicly in April 2025. The last time they were photographed together was in May 2025.
Despite Dane making public appearances with both Jayne and Shirtcliff, Dane’s wife Rebecca Gayheart called off their divorce in March 2025 amid the actor’s battle with a debilitating illness.
Gayheart later explained that she made the decision to teach her daughters to be there for their families “even in the worst of times.” She also explained that the two had not lived together for eight years.
Following the “Euphoria” actor’s death at the age of 53, Jayne posted a tribute on her Instagram Stories on Saturday.
She shared four black and white photos, one of which showed her cuddling up to him. “You really were a black leather jacket in a world of tan cardigans,” she wrote above the photo, adding white heart and dove emojis.
