Emma Stone added sparkle to a plain cardigan.
The “Bugonia” actress, 37, took her lazy demographic to glamorous new heights on Sunday at the SAG Actor Awards 2026 red carpet wearing a custom Louis Vuitton lilac beaded slip dress and coordinating cardigan.
It’s the latest in a series of unexpectedly understated looks that Stone and stylist Petra Flannery have put together this awards season, following a midriff-baring crop top at the Golden Globes and a simple white tank dress at the Producers Guild Awards.
Sunday’s floor-length chiffon gown featured thin beaded straps and a scooped neckline. The cardigan matches both color and shine, with the same shiny beadwork throughout.
Stone’s auburn bob was styled with soft wisps that framed her face, and her makeup was kept simple with a rosy lip and no jewelry in sight.
The look also seemed to eschew the evening’s official dress code: a “reimagining of 20s and 30s Hollywood glamor.” This is a theme curated in partnership with Elle magazine. While many nominees and presenters wore feather boas, top hats and Art Deco gowns, Stone opted for ’90s-style simplicity.
At the Golden Globe Awards in January, Stone walked the Beverly Hilton carpet in a custom butter yellow Louis Vuitton crop top paired with a low beaded fringed skirt.
At the BAFTA Awards in London last week, she wore a black Louis Vuitton halter column dress with a teardrop cutout on the chest. It was the most traditional dress on the red carpet this season, but her only accessories were diamond studs and a thin bracelet.
She made an unusual departure from Louis Vuitton, where she has been an ambassador since 2017, at the Producers Guild Awards on February 28, wearing a streamlined Calvin Klein Collection dress, another homage to ’90s minimalism.
Stone is also nominated for Best Actress at the 2026 Oscars on March 15th, giving her another chance to give black tie a makeover to her basic wardrobe.
