Ellie Goulding is ready for the next era!
The 38-year-old British singer released her new single “Destiny” on Friday, November 14th, along with a sexy music video starring her boyfriend Beau Minnier.
The dreamy pop track is Golding’s first new solo music since 2023, when she released her fifth album, Higher Than Heaven, and her first since announcing her separation from husband Casper Jopling in 2024 after four-and-a-half years of marriage.
“Recording this was cathartic and made me feel so good. It felt like the award had been with me all along,” she said in a statement. “This song was my first feeling of straight escape and empowerment instead of giving everything of myself to them. When I heard this song, I fell in love with it… To me, it sounds like surrender. That’s what happens. That’s why the song is called ‘Destiny.’ It sounds like becoming and accepting what is.”

In the video, directed by Floria Sigismondi, Golding sings as she wanders around a stately country mansion, spending time with the mysterious Minier, 28, who is never seen.
At one point, they enjoy a decadent feast that includes a seductive knife lick before she runs her hand over his six-pack abs and kisses him.
“I saw the light, I saw everything/I won the lottery, and I found you,” she sings.
Golding and Minear went public with their relationship during an outing in London in September, two months after Golding posted a racy photo of the “Lights” singer lying nude in bed on Instagram.
In an interview with NME, Golding revealed that he first heard ‘Destiny’ while he was separated from Jopling. She has a son, Arthur, 4, with Jopling.

“The first time I heard this song was when I had recently separated from my husband. It was a really tumultuous time for me because I was trying to get through all the separation-like situations. It wasn’t just a relationship, it was a marriage,” she said. “I didn’t know what to do other than make music.”
She said she saw producer Jacques Ronchon playing guitar on Instagram and was transfixed, so she immediately contacted him about doing music together. She spends her time writing in Nashville and Los Angeles, and said she is “just making music that I love.”
