Red’s infamy began after Boston police officer O’Keefe was found to not respond in the snow early on January 29, 2022, outside a gathering at another police officer’s home. She repeatedly pleaded not guilty.

Reading was acquitted this June, and she told her supporters outside the courtroom after the verdict: “I wouldn’t be standing here without these amazing supporters who supported me and my team financially and more importantly emotionally.”
“No one fought hard for justice for John O’Keefe, and my team,” she said.
She was not guilty of second-degree murder, the most serious charges, manslaughter while operating under the influence, but leaving the scene of an accident that led to involuntary manslaughter, motor vehicle murder and death was a crime of operating under the influence.

The limited series comes after Banks appeared in the recent hit Prime video series, The Better Sister
Banks and Jessica Biel, 51, played the marginalized sisters in the series that premiered on Streamer in May, adapted from Arafaa Burke’s 2019 novel of the same name.
The Better Sisters also explored the famous murders, but also the fictional murders in which Beale and Banks’ on-screen son, teenager, was falsely accused of killing their father (Corry Stoll).
