Pixar’s latest film, Elio, will begin streaming on Disney+ on September 17th.
Sci-Fi Adventure introduces Elio. Elio is a vulnerable child with an active imagination who finds galaxy representatives inadvertently glowing in communication, a wide intergalactic interplanetary organization. Elio is mistakenly identified as the Earth’s ambassador as another universe, and is not fully prepared for such pressure, so Elio has to form a new bond with the eccentric alien lifeform, survive a series of horrifying trials, and somehow discover who he is truly intended.
The animated film, released in theaters on June 20th, opened third in $21 million from 3,750 theaters. Its debut marked a historic low for Pixar. The film grossed $72 million at the domestic box office and $153 million worldwide.
“Elio” is directed by Adrian Morina, the writer and co-director of Pixar’s Oscar-winning “Coco.” Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi also directed the film. The voice cast includes Zoe Saldanya as Elio’s aunt, Olga. Jameer Rajamil Ambassador Quest. Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon. Brandon Moon as Helix Ambassador. Shirley Henderson is ooooo as a supercomputer, Yonas Kibreab.
Pixar will be coming to the theater next year with two films, the original film “The Hoppers” on March 6th and the highly anticipated sequel “Toy Story 5” on June 19th.
