Last week, the theater district was crowded with celebrities.
Elijah Wood was spotted in the audience for “Dog Day Afternoon” at the August Wilson Theater last Tuesday. A spy told Page Six that the “Lord of the Rings” actor was spotted jumping up and down during the break.
The same day, another eagle-eyed spy spotted Adrien Brody, looking cozy in a bathrobe, on the phone inside the building where he stars in Broadway’s “Fear of 13.”
Several celebrities attended the afterparty for the off-Broadway opening of True starring Jesse Tyler Ferguson last Thursday night.
The celebratory soiree, held at Penrose Bar on the Upper East Side, was attended by Julie Bowen, Lea DeLaria, Jesse Eisenberg, Cynthia Nixon, Josh Radner, Jessica Lange, Lupita Nyong’o, and Brooke Shields.
Ferguson was also attended by co-star Charlotte d’Amboise and the play’s director Rob Ashford.
Stars also came together to celebrate Women’s History Month throughout this week.
Meanwhile, “The View” star Sarah Haines served as a presenter at the Anne Klein Women Who Do Awards Luncheon at the Rainbow Room last Wednesday afternoon.
The event, which was also attended by Joan Smalls, honored notable leaders including entrepreneur Atoya Burleson, Hauschka Skin Care CEO Martina Halloran, Norwell Health Breast Surgery Director Karen Michelle Kostroff, French model Tina Kunakey, and philanthropic strategist Caroline Kelly Rosen.
While there, Page Six spoke to Haynes about former “Today” show co-star Savannah Guthrie as the search for her kidnapped mother Nancy Guthrie continues.
“I want it resolved and I want them to find something,” Haynes said. “My heart is breaking and I have no words for how painful it is to see this.”
The next night, Gwyneth Paltrow was honored at the New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT) Muse Awards.
Paltrow’s son Moses, husband Brad Falchuk and mother Blythe Danner also attended the luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street.
Audra McDonald and Joy Reed were also recognized at the event.
