Electric Entertainment, the producer and distributor of “Leverage,” “The Librarians” and “The Ark,” has received a $20 million investment from Content Partners Capital.
Los Angeles-based Electric becomes the latest studio to secure funding from Content Partners since the company launched its investment private capital arm in April 2024.
According to CPC, which co-announced the deal with Electric at Mipcon on Tuesday during Electric Entertainment’s 25th anniversary celebration, “this agreement reflects CPC’s continued momentum in accelerating its investment strategy across content-driven businesses and entertainment assets.”
Led by CEO Dean Devlin (pictured above, left), Electric Entertainment has been in business for 25 years and produced 36 episodes of three hit TV series in the last year alone. It will be completed in 2024 with 22 episodes.
“This investment will enable us to continue to grow rapidly at the pace we have established over many years,” Devlin said. “We have been fortunate to create, cultivate and expand numerous highly successful television series and fan-favorite IPs, including Leverage, The Librarians and The Ark. We are excited about our new relationship with Content Partners Capital and believe this partnership will be mutually beneficial for all involved.”
“Electric Entertainment has proven to be a leader in the independent film and television space, and is exactly the type of successful studio Content Partners Capital is looking to invest in,” said CPC Partner Alphonse Lord (pictured above, right). “With this agreement, we support Electric Entertainment’s high-quality content and continue to elevate Content Partners Capital as a leading dealmaker in Hollywood, providing strategic capital to independent studios.”
Jeff Gonzalez, Electric’s chief financial officer, added, “We have known Alphonse for many years and are really excited to be working with him. His leadership in providing capital to high-growth companies like Electric is invaluable, especially as we expand our numerous IP TV series. Partnering with CPC will ensure we have the capital we need to invest in current and new series, allowing us to continue to provide great programming to our growing and loyal fan base.”
