“Dancing with the Stars” alum Cheryl Burke didn’t appreciate Alix Earle’s stepmother’s “Ozempik” bargain.
The former ballroom dancer, who appeared as a guest judge on Tuesday’s “Halloween Night,” took to Instagram Thursday to applaud “body shamers” after she was slammed by Ashley Dupre for giving her stepdaughter a lower score than the other judges.
“My comment didn’t come out of nowhere. It came from personal experience. It came from being on this show for 26 seasons. And it also came from years of training and mentoring myself,” Burke, 41, told his followers in a selfie-style video.
“And I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews, which is totally fine, but the problem is I’ve also seen a lot of offensive reviews and body-shaming reviews.”
She scolded people who “think it’s OK to body shame, especially in front of children,” arguing that it “sends a powerful message about what you value, and clearly that’s not kindness.”
Burke added: “You don’t have to agree with my criticisms, but you do need to be aware of the impact your words have on the next generation looking at you. If that’s what you want to set an example for, please don’t mention my name.”
After his “Halloween Night” tango with Earl’s pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy, Dupre slammed Burke on TikTok, giving the “f-king Amazing” dance a 9, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough gave it a perfect 10.
Dupre, who is married to Alix’s father, Thomas “TJ” Earle, angrily yelled in a reaction video after Burke revealed the score, “Oh, give me more Ozempic.”
When one of her young children questioned her statement, Dupre, 40, blurted out: “She looks weird. She doesn’t look like that.”
Ms Burke first addressed her physical changes in March after fans worried something was wrong.
“I’m not participating in Ozempic. I’m not sick. I haven’t had a face transplant. And no, I haven’t had an eyebrow lift,” Burke claimed at the time, adding, “That assumption is really exhausting.”
Regarding her breakup with Matthew Lawrence, she explained, “My face has changed because I’ve changed. I went through a lot of trauma with divorce, and this is by no means a pity party.”
“Sobriety, burnout, reinvention. Like everyone else, I healed, lost, and grieved.”
In August, the former choreographer admitted that he ended up losing 41 pounds, which he credited to a portion-controlled food delivery service.
In a recent interview with Page Six, Burke gave his opinion on all the social media buzz surrounding “DWTS” Season 34, with viewers being particularly critical of Inaba’s judging and scoring.
“I can definitely have empathy and compassion for her because I think I’m going through that too, but in a different way,” Burke said.
“All the judges said things that the audience probably didn’t like, but when Carrie Ann said something, the reaction was certainly very different.”
