On Sunday night, Duchess Meghan was spotted on a date night with her husband, Prince Harry, in New York City.
The two were photographed leaving the popular New York spot Chez Margaux. Markle’s choice of fabric reflects the season’s sudden cheerfulness.
When I think of fall, I think of plaid, flannel, and, yes, tweed. And Markle slipped into the season’s trends with ease.
Wearing a black and white tweed strapless midi dress designed by Chanel, the Duchess paired her evening dress with black Balenciaga spandex point-toe pumps and carried a matching black satin Giorgio Armani bag in one hand.
The dress itself is not new. Markle previously wore it during the 2022 photo shoot for The Cut.
Markle wore Maya Brenner diamond drop earrings that Prince Harry bought her last Valentine’s Day, and a gold bangle on her left wrist. The strapless dress showed off her collarbone.
The couple was in the city after Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Festival, where they received the Humanitarian of the Year award.
Markle jumped into the East Coast trip after a quick trip to Paris for Fashion Week and the Balenciaga runway show.
The new Netflix star is often photographed with classic and timeless wardrobe choices, but in the past she has tended to avoid high-fashion looks.
But this could be a new fashion era for Duchess Kate, who recently returned from her first Paris Fashion Week appearance.
With rumors swirling that Markle has invited herself to Balenciaga’s show, her personal interest in creating a high fashion persona is no doubt becoming more and more justified.
From white Balenciaga capes to tweed Chanel dresses, we’re in this fashion renaissance and can’t wait to see what’s next.
