Luck for the Irish looks good for Duchess Kate.
The 44-year-old Princess of Wales stepped out on Tuesday at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, England, to attend the Irish Guards’ St. Patrick’s Day Parade, where she dressed in costume befitting the Emerald Isle and presented the regiment’s Irish Wolfhound mascot, Seamus, with a traditional shamrock sprig.
Middleton, a regimental colonel, wore a custom emerald double-breasted Alexander McQueen coat cinched with a black leather belt over a sleeveless McQueen dress, and kept warm with a black scarf and Cornelia James gloves ($175).
She finished off her look with a forest green felt hat from Gina Foster Millinary. The hat comes with a royal resume, having accompanied the princess to the same parade in 2014 and 2018, and to the Christmas Day service in 2024.
Middleton then added emerald and diamond earrings by Asprey London, black suede knee-high boots by Ralph Lauren, and an Irish Guards officer cap badge pinned to her lapel.
Of course, fresh shamrocks tucked into her coat added a final celebratory touch.
Middleton has attended the annual gala nearly every year since 2012, but only missed the year 2024 while undergoing cancer treatment. Last year, she returned for her first solo appearance as the Colonel, wearing a dark blue-green McQueen coat with a shamrock brooch, possibly designed by Cartier.
The princess’s default for this occasion was green, but there was one notable exception. In 2023, she wowed viewers in a turquoise Catherine Walker coat dress with matching Gianvito Rossi pumps.
It remains to be seen whether she raised her glass of Guinness afterwards, as is tradition.
