Duchess Kate and Jessie J shared a warm embrace after bonding over their battle with cancer.
The Princess of Wales was photographed hugging the pop star at the Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday night.
The “Price Tag” singer was seen chatting with the royal family, and the two later leaned in to gently embrace each other’s arms.
Jessie J., 37, later explained that the emotional exchange happened after they discussed their health concerns.
“I just wanted to give my mom a hug from my mom who recently had cancer,” Jessie explained, according to The Independent.
The “Bang Bang” artist further revealed that she and the princess agreed that it is even harder to overcome cancer under the spotlight.
“We realized that it’s not something that can be easily passed, especially in the public eye,” she said.
Over the summer, Jessie J revealed that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
“Cancer is the worst in any form, but I love the word ‘early’,” she said in a video she shared on Instagram in June.
Jessie said she was planning to undergo breast surgery, joking: “It’s a very dramatic way to have breast surgery.”
“I’ll be back with bigger boobs and more music,” she gushed, before adding, “I’ll be keeping[my]nipples.” (She underwent at least two brutal surgeries for cancer this year.)
Jesse also admitted that he was having a hard time processing his diagnosis and needed a “hug.”
Luckily, Middleton was there Wednesday night to do just that.
The outing was special as it was the Royal Foundation founder’s first red carpet appearance in two years.
Middleton, 43, has been away from the spotlight while undergoing treatment since being diagnosed with cancer in March 2024.
Six months later, Middleton revealed she had completed chemotherapy, and in June, the mother-of-three confirmed she was in remission.
Middleton walked the red carpet in a form-fitting velvet green dress, accompanied by her husband Prince William, who looked dashing in a velvet tuxedo.
