Drew Carey has slammed Spencer Pratt as a “serial cheater” amid the reality star’s upcoming Los Angeles mayoral campaign.
In a thread, the 68-year-old comedian slammed people who will vote for Platt in the upcoming election. Pratt, 42, is a leading candidate to unseat incumbent Mayor Karen Bass.
“Anyone voting for or supporting Spencer Pratt in the LA mayoral race should think twice,” he wrote. “It’s understandable to be angry and frustrated, but at least support someone who is competent and not a serial cheater with no soul or moral compass.”
He added: “This guy is fucked.”
Carey’s message received both criticism and support. One commenter agreed with him, writing, “Thank you, Drew. I can’t believe people want this guy to be mayor of one of our nation’s largest cities.”
But one comment read, “Please give credit to all the talented leaders currently in Los Angeles and their accomplishments.”
Carey isn’t the only celebrity to voice opposition to Pratt’s bid as mayor of Los Angeles. Chrishell Stause also wrote in the thread last month: “No more please from reality star politicians! I have nothing against Spencer! In fact, I like him on TV! Not in government 😩CA, get it together 🙏🏼.”
Stause also called out Katharine McPhee after she and her husband, David Foster, held a fundraiser for Pratt at their Brentwood Park home in Los Angeles earlier this month.
The “Selling Sunset” alum commented on influencer Geordie Clay’s TikTok video detailing McPhee’s relationship history — including a cheating scandal in 2013 when she was photographed kissing “Smash” director Michael Morris while she was still married to ex-husband Nick Caucus. Morris was also married to Broadway star Mary McCormack at the time, and the two still live together.
Stause commented on the video: “One day she will find true confidence within herself, but it will only be after being ignored so many times by the troubled men she supports.”
She added: “Insecure women will steal your man and give you the worst advice.”
McPhee responded to the drama in a comment on E! News posted on Instagram about the situation, and one follower asked what the “American Idol” contestant said to upset Stause in the first place.
“Honestly, I have no idea,” McPhee wrote. “I’m just as confused about this controversy as you are ❤️”
Meanwhile, Mr. Pratt’s campaign continues to gain momentum.
New campaign disclosures show he raised about $2.7 million from April 19 to May 15, roughly matching the roughly $2.8 million Bass has raised since entering the 2024 race, the California Post reported Friday.
