Donald Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, stopped by the junk food podcast “Snack Homies” during an Oct. 18 episode of “Saturday Night Live” hosted by Sabrina Carpenter.
When asked about his thoughts on the Candy Airheads by the Young Men podcast co-hosts Carpenter, Chloe Fineman, Jane Wickline and Veronica Slawkowska, he gave a predictably long answer, touching on the day’s “No Kings” protests and the president’s recent move to release disgraced former Republican Rep. George Santos from prison.
President Trump said, “My favorite person is George Santos.” “He’s a weirdo and a liar. I think he’s great. We don’t know anything about him, but he’s one of our favorite people. I don’t know anything about him, but he’s one of our favorite people. People are marching because they’re happy he’s free. It’s like, ‘Yes, King!’ march. They said, “Yes, King! ” ”
Mr. Trump did not appear at the cold opening in the evening, as he usually does. The episode started about 14 minutes late due to the length of the college football game, and instead of starting with the traditional beginning of a political cold war, the show began with a reprisal of fan-favorite skit “Domingo.”
Santos was also mentioned at the top of the episode’s Weekend Update segment, with Colin Jost joking, “Yesterday, President Trump finally released what everyone has been asking for. He released former Republican Congressman George Santos, who has pleaded guilty to fraud and something called ‘aggravated identity theft.’ I think it’s about forcing someone into a closet and changing clothes with them.”
