It’s so Shady.
“That’s So Raven” alum Anneliese van der Pol has opened up about an “uncomfortable” interaction with fellow Disney Channel alum Ashley Tisdale in a resurfaced video.
On an August 2023 episode of the Big Names podcast, Romano, 41, recalled to co-host Kristy Carlson Romano how she served Tisdale, 40, while working as a waitress.
“I’d like to say she was lovely,” Van der Pol said, taking a sip of his cocktail before finishing his sentence.
The Raven’s Home alum, who previously worked at Salvation Burger, Salvation Tacos and Tavern on the Green in New York City for “about a year,” explained that Tisdale didn’t respond, saying, “Oh my god! Hello!”
In fact, the “High School Musical” star was so clearly “uncomfortable” that Van der Pol felt like telling her, “It’s okay, girl.”
She felt the same urge when she observed the “heart-wrenching” expressions on the faces of other patrons who recognized and “judged” her.
The Broadway star wanted to proudly say, “I’m really happy that I don’t have to audition and that I’m doing what I know I’m good at. When I’m cleaning tables or delivering food, I know I can do it and I can’t go wrong.”
Mr Tisdale did not comment on Mr Van der Pol’s dissing that made headlines in 2023.
The “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” alumna is in the news again this week after exposing “toxic” mom groups in a scathing essay for The Cut.
Ms. Tisdale’s representatives denied that the film was about her star-studded group, which includes Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff and Meghan Trainor, but Ms. Duff’s husband fired back with applause on Tuesday.
Matthew Koma reproduced the blurb for Tisdale’s article with the following headline: “Mom Group Tells Everything Through Dad’s Eyes: When you’re the most self-centered tone-deaf person on the planet, other moms tend to shift their focus to the actual toddler.”
He later deleted the post.
As for Tisdale’s partner, Christopher French stirred things up on his Instagram Story by reposting about choosing to “get involved or not” and “pausing to decide if[something]is worth your energy.”
Van der Pol hasn’t opined on Tisdale’s latest viral drama, but Romano poked fun at it in an Instagram video on Monday.
The 41-year-old “Even Stevens” alum wrote that she was “minding her own business” and called it “celebrity mom drama…a wild turn of events from outside the group.”
