Disney aims to increase streaming subscriber numbers in the first quarter of 2026 and is introducing a three-month 62% price discount on ad-supported Disney+/Hulu bundles.
The Mouse House has launched a special deal offering Disney+ and Hulu for $4.99 a month with ads for the first three months. That’s $8 off the regular monthly price of $12.99. This offer is available from March 5th through March 24th to new and eligible repeat customers in the U.S. who sign up online (via this link). Once the 3-month promotional period ends, the Disney+/Hulu bundle will auto-renew at the then-current monthly retail price until canceled.
Disney regularly offers special discounts to encourage subscriptions to its streaming service. The company also regularly raises the standard prices of these packages, and last October raised the prices of Disney+ and Hulu for the third time in three years, increasing the cost of the Disney+/Hulu bundle from $10.99 to $12.99 per month.
In promoting its new Disney+ and Hulu bundle deal, the company mentioned upcoming shows coming to the service. These include the blockbuster “Zootopia 2” (March 11), the Marvel movie “Daredevil: Born Again” season 2 (March 24), and the Hulu original “Mormon Wives” season 4 (March 12). Other new TV shows and movies on Hulu include “Paradise” Season 2, “Predator: Badlands” and “Tell Me Rise” Season 3.
Disney stopped reporting streaming subscriber numbers as of the final quarter of the calendar year in 2025. During the first quarter of Disney’s fiscal year 2026, total Disney+ and Hulu revenue increased 11% to $5.35 billion, and operating income increased 72% to $450 million. This equates to an operating margin of 8.4% for the period, and Disney reiterated that it expects entertainment streaming to reach an operating margin of 10% for the full fiscal year 2026.
Disney plans to fully integrate Hulu into Disney+ in 2026. According to Disney, Disney+ and Hulu can still be purchased as standalone plans in the United States. Disney has not yet set an end date for the Hulu app.
