Diplo is making fun of the viral joke that he dated both Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau.
The DJ shared a selfie with Canada’s former prime minister on Monday, cheekily captioning it with the title of Perry’s song, “The One That Got Away.”
In the selfie, Diplo and Trudeau both look comically shocked.
Diplo’s famous friends were amused by the post. Paris Hilton commented with a crying-laughing emoji, and Ryan Tedder wrote, “Damn.”
The producer made the outlandish claim (which was later revealed to be a joke) during an appearance on the podcast Smart Girl Dumbquestions last month.
Diplo called the new couple “Fire” and recalled that he dated the “Dark Horse” singer in 2014.
She added, “I’ve also dated Prime Minister Trudeau.”
“But it was strange,” he continued. “Because I’m not interested in politicians.”
The podcast’s official YouTube account commented that Diplo was joking when he asked him if he was serious about dating Trudeau.
The “Teenage Dream” singer ranked James Corden as her third best boyfriend (after Orlando Bloom and John Mayer) in 2017 when she was playing games with him, but she teased it at the time.
Diplo responded on Twitter: “I don’t even remember having sex.”
“I won a bronze medal at the Sex Olympics,” he shared in another jokey post.
Meanwhile, the relationship between Mr. Perry and Mr. Trudeau shows no signs of slowing down.
The pair were first spotted on an intimate dinner date in Montreal in July, and recently made their first public appearance as a couple, holding hands while celebrating her 41st birthday in Paris.
Sources told Page Six that Prime Minister Trudeau, 53, is taking on the pop star head-on.
“He’s crazy about her and thinks she’s the perfect woman,” the source said. “They relate to everything: politics, kids, French food.”
