Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense team told a Manhattan judge on Friday, October 3rd how the dishonest music mogul plans to move forward if he is released.
Combs was in court on Friday to be sentenced to a July conviction for prostitution charges.
The judge heard from adult children at Combs. All six attended the court to show their support.
Combs’ own mother was in court as well. His defense attorney says she will be a key factor in his plans after the release.
Brian Steele said on a per CNN that he would move to Miami if Judge Combs was released because he was close to his mother.
Steele further told the judge what Combs is going to do with his life upon his release.
“He is in a unique position to openly speak about what it is like to be imprisoned, whether it is drug use, losing your global business, harming someone you love, and what it is like to take away your happiness,” Steele said.
Emotional statements from his lawyers and children followed an otherwise rocky start to defend, after prosecutors claimed they had booked a talk in Miami next week.
“That’s your honor, your hubrifying,” U.S. lawyer Advisor Christie Slavik told Judge Arun Subramanian early today.
“Even now, in his conviction sentence for two federal crimes… he is not fully engaged in the way his actions led him here,” she continued. “His respect for the law is just lip service.”
