A new teaser for “Tere Ishk Mein” has arrived, and the first on-screen collaboration gives you a glimpse into Aanand L. Rai’s latest romantic drama starring Indian National Film Award winners Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.
The film, which is scheduled to be released worldwide in Hindi and Tamil on November 28th, will reunite Rai with composer Ar Rahman for his third collaboration, following “Raanjhanaa” (2013) and “Atrangi Re” (2021). The teaser introduces the charged dynamics between Shankar in Dhanush and Mukti in Sanon. The character revolves around Benalas’s background, the heart of some of Rai’s signature works.
The title is translated into “In Your Love” from the Hindi and Urdu languages, and “Ishku” shows a fierce, all-consuming form of love that goes beyond mere romance.
“Ishk is just about surrender. It will heal you, hurt you, change you,” said Rai, who directs and produces the film along with Himanshu Sharma.
The project marks a frequent reunion of collaborators, with Sharma co-written the script with Neeraj Yadav. Rahman’s score features lyrics by Irshad Kamil, and the teaser track performed by Arijit Singh already produces a buzz.
The film was released by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, Color Yellow, with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar serving as producers alongside Rai and Sharma.
Bhushan Kumar, chairman and MD of the T series, said: “The audience will be seeing Danush and Kriti together for the first time. A fresh pairing that brings unique, magnetic tension to the screen.
Rai has been caught up in a conflict with Eros International over “Raanjhanaa,” which was changed by the AI in the studio “Raanjhanaa,” which changed the tragic ending of the 2013 film without the film’s consent. Rai warns that “Indian films currently stand at their own inflection point” in regards to protecting creators, and EROS CEO Pradeep Dwivedi defends the decision as both legal rights and creative innovation, characterizing it as a “respectful reinterpretation” and argues that “rightholder’s creative reinterpretation is a long-term global practice.” This controversy sparked a broader debate about the role of creative rights and AI in Indian cinema.
