Devon Sawa will be making a guest appearance in Disney’s new series “Coven Academy.”
The show, which was greenlit in August 2025, is expected to debut on Disney Channel and Disney+ sometime in 2026, although an exact premiere date has not yet been determined.
The show takes place in New Orleans. According to the official logline, the film follows “three teenage witches and their dangerously alluring wizard companions at an elite wizarding school where power is currency, secrets are deadly, and charm is responsibility. Caught between an ancient supernatural war and a forbidden love affair, the coven must decide how far they will go to protect their city and themselves.”
Sawa will play Professor Cole. “A casually cool teacher who’s tired of seeing teenagers mistake talent for responsiveness. He’s an adult who can clown you and protect you at the same time. A good guy and a brilliant magician. There’s only one more year at Coven Academy until Mr. Cole and the rest of the faculty are shaken up by a surprising new student who threatens to turn everything upside down.”
Sawa recently played multiple roles in the popular TV series “Chucky,” which is based on the horror film series “Child’s Play.” He has also recently appeared on shows such as Peacock’s “Twisted Metal” and HBO Max’s “Hacks.” He is best known for his roles in films such as “Final Destination,” “SLC Punk,” and “Idle Hands.”
He is repped by Artist First, Gersh and Felker Toczek.
The main cast of “Coven Academy” includes Marina Pauli Wiseman, Malachi Barton, Jordan Leftwich, Ola Duplass, Louis Thresher, and Tiffani Thiessen. Recurring cast members include Swayam Bhatia, Brendon Tremblay, and Keegan Connor-Tracy.
Tim Federle created the series and served as executive producer through his Chorus Boy Productions. Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Amanda Rowe and Bronwyn North-Reist will also serve as executive producers. Produced by Chorus Boy and Disney Branded Television.
