Dennis Quaid appeared on the Out of Order podcast and choked up while watching a scene from Nancy Meyers’ classic 1998 comedy The Parent Trap, which co-starred Lindsay Lohan and Natasha Richardson. The latter actor died in March 2009 after suffering a head injury in a fall while skiing. Richardson was only 45 years old at the time.
“It always breaks my heart,” Quaid said. “She’s a really great person. If there’s anyone I’d want to work with again, it would be her.”
“Not only was she a great person and a great actor to work with, she really was. The way she went… it was just a little accident on the ski slopes,” Quad continued, his voice rising. “I’ll really miss her, but there’s a whole generation, and even more generations of kids who were actually 8 years old at the time, and years later, I’ve seen this movie on VHS 42 times…I’ve rented it with my kids now and watched it 42 times. It turns out it’s probably the most-watched movie I’ve ever made.”
Quaid and Lohan shared fond memories of Richard at the 2020 Parent Trap cast reunion, with Lohan saying, “Natasha was very graceful and graceful and very motherly to me.”
“(She) was such a dedicated person, so happy to be there, so happy to be able to do what we were doing, and just made everything better,” Quaid added at the time.
