Great style can take a little effort.
Last night, Demi Moore kicked off her red carpet preparation ordeal by sharing a hilarious video of herself struggling to grip on to her extremely long opera gloves ahead of the Glamor Woman of the Year awards.
“The not-so-glamorous backstage before the @glamourmag Women of the Year Awards… the gloves *didn’t come off*!” the actress, 62, posted on Instagram on Wednesday alongside a video of her stylist Brad Goreski slipping Balenciaga’s haute couture white gloves (€1,500) on her arms.
“Keep going,” Goreski can be heard saying as he tugs forcefully on his glove, nearly knocking Moore backwards. “Are you okay? Do you need another push?”
The Substance star, who was crowned Global Woman of the Year at a ceremony at the Plaza Hotel, quickly realized she would have to repeat the ordeal later.
“Jason, are you watching this? Because I have to take my shoes off and you have to help me put them back on,” she said off-screen to her manager Jason Weinberg. “It’s a great fit, which is great, but hmm.”
Another member of Moore’s team, who was filming the process, compared the process to “putting on compression socks” and couldn’t stop laughing. He then added an even more colorful assessment: “What a piece of shit.”
The video also featured Moore’s hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, makeup artist Roquel Lizama, and the actress’ micro Chihuahua Pilaf.
In the comments, one fan quipped, “One of my aunts always said, ‘Women go through pain to look beautiful.’ I think this was one of those moments 😍.”
Moore’s dedication to shiny white spandex opera gloves ultimately paid off. She wore a strapless black Balenciaga top and tapered pants from creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut collection for the luxury fashion house.
The Golden Globe winner appears on the cover of Glamor magazine’s October 2025 issue wearing a corseted cage dress by designer Harris Reid.
In a separate post reflecting on the honor, she said she dedicated her award to “all the women who have reached out to me, the women who have come and paved the way for me, the women who walk beside me, and the women who will come after me.” She added: “When one woman stands up, we all stand up.”
